Birch mediates between worlds. It symbolizes the feminine beginning, spring and rebirth. The tree has protective and magical properties. The broom on which the witches flew was made of the twigs of this tree. To protect children against evil forces, cradles were made of birch wood. In spring, we can sit in front of a tree and write all our requests to the Goddess of Mokosz on the birch bark.
